AVID
AVID = Advancement Via Individual Determination
The AVID elective courses are college preparatory classes designed to prepare for student success in advanced level courses. The AVID classes help identified students succeed in a rigorous curriculum, complete a college preparatory path, and enter mainstream activities of the school. The AVID classes provide support through the use of Cornell Notes, binder organization, learning logs, team building, time management, tutorials, Socratic seminars, public-speaking and test-taking skills.
